Al Ahly voted the best club of the year at CAF Awards

African football club powerhouse, Al Ahly were voted the best club in Africa at the 2024 CAF Awards on Monday evening.

Al Ahly, who boast the title of being Africa’s most successful club of all time with 12 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League titles to their name won the award for the second consecutive time.

Accepting the award on behalf of the club, Al Ahly board member Mohamed El Ghazawy thanked the CAF leadership for the great work that they have put into developing African football.

“I extend my appreciation to CAF and the CAF President for all the efforts they make for African football. It’s a great honour and privilege to receive the award for the best club of the year. I hope in God’s will that we will be back on this stage next year to receive for the third consecutive year. I congratulate the fans of Al Ahly who have always been the primary source of inspiration” said El Ghazawy.
