CAF Stages successful ‘KinFoot 2025’ Festival in Kinshasa ahead of the General Assembly

The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has successfully staged the CAF Festival – KinFoot 2025, which took place from 25 to 27 September 2025 in Kinshasa, the host city of the CAF General Assembly scheduled for 6 October.
The Festival was held under the themes of education, inclusion and hope, and mobilized the young people of the commune of Ngaliema around a program including training workshops. The events included a football Tournament, with the aim of promoting football as a tool for social and civic development.
A number of former Congolese players, such as Trésor Lualua, Roger Hitoto, Cyrille Zuma and Gladys Bokese joined the Festival.
The launch of the festival was marked by a distribution of school kits offered by CAF to children in schools in the commune of Ngaliema. This initiative is part of the desire to act from day one to strengthen accessibility to education and encourage youth engagement in the festival.
The handing over of equipment was accompanied by visits to schools, meetings with students and awareness-raising actions.
The second day of the festival was devoted to a set of workshops organized at the National Pedagogical University. These sessions were carried out by the CAF Member Associations unit, in collaboration with local and expert stakeholders. Topics covered include:
- Technology applied to sport
- Coaching and technical training of young people
- Safeguarding (protection of young people)
- Refereeing, its fundamental laws and the initiation of decision-making on the field.
Practical sessions accompanied the theoretical teachings, allowing the participants to implement the concepts learned in the field.
The third day of the festival was dedicated to putting it into practice, with the organisation of a mixed tournament bringing together 16 teams from schools, in a spirit of fair play, camaraderie and discovery. The École Moderne and ITC Djelo Binza schools distinguished themselves by winning the respective trophies of the tournaments in the girls and boys categories after very competitive matches.
Beyond the competition, this closing day highlighted the values advocated by CAF: inclusion, respect, solidarity and love of the game. The tournament was intended to be a festive and educational moment, extended by the presentation of awards and encouragement to the young participants.
By bringing together hundreds of children, educators and football stakeholders in Kinshasa for the distribution of kits, educational workshops and a school tournament, CAF has demonstrated its willingness to build a concrete legacy for the development of grassroots football.
