Former Ghana midfielder Kevin-Prince Boateng has confirmed his retirement from professional football aged 36.
The Berlin-born playmaker, who had an eventful club career across Europe, announced the decision in an Instagram post on Friday.
"I LOVE YOU. But that’s a WRAP for me. Thank you FOOTBALL for everything," Boateng wrote.
His last club was German side Hertha Berlin where he began his career before becoming a footballing nomad.
The 15 clubs Boateng represented included Italian giants AC Milan, for whom he starred as they won the 2011 Serie A title.
He also had a brief spell with Spanish club Barcelona in 2019 as well as playing in England, Turkey, Italy and Germany.
"Berlin boy, blue and white blood, our flag forever on his chest. It was an honour," his boyhood club Hertha Berlin said.
At international level, Boateng opted to play for Ghana in 2010 having represented Germany at youth level.
He earned 15 caps for the Black Stars, scoring two goals, and played at the 2010 and 2014 World Cups.
Boateng's retirement closes the curtain on a career filled with tremendous talent.
