20:15 – Thank you, Rabat. Thank you, Africa. Another unforgettable CAF Awards night. Goodnight from Morocco. See you next year.

20:01 – Legends’ salute: a symbolic photo on stage — past greats with tonight’s headline winners.

19:59 – Hakimi’s speech:"All glory to God. This trophy is not just for me - it is for all Africans, young Africans who aspire to be footballers. I would like to thank King Mohamed for providing us with all the facilities to help us succeed." Cameras flash; anthem of the winner’s nation rings out.




 





19:47 – The room erupts. The new king of African football is ACHRAF HAKIMI lifts the trophy to huge applause. 


 


19:45 – The big one: Men’s Player of the Year — Salah, Hakimi or Osimhen?

19:40 – Women’s Player of the Year on stage — the headline women’s honour - Ghizlane Chebbak of Morocco. This will be presented by CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe and the winner is:





19:30 – Music set 3: Awilo Longomba brings Soukous to Rabat — a joyous, pan-African celebration.

19:15 – It is the turn of CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe to take to the stage and address the audience. Dr Motsepe expresses his gratitude to the King of Morocco, the people of Morocco and the President of the Moroccan FA Faouzi Lekjaa for their commitment to African football. Dr Motsepe also invited FIFA President Gianni Infantino to address the audience. Dr. Motsepe takes the opportunity to also present awards to the Presidents of Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda for their contribution towards football development in Africa. The three countries jointly hosted the recent TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN).

18:15 – We go straight into Goal of the Year Winner to be presented by Ghana legend Asamoah Gyan and Manucho of Angola. Clement Nzize of Young African ofd Tanzania in their match against TP Mazembe— a roar in the hall for a truly special finish.

18:00 – We’re live in Rabat! Opening montage celebrates a stellar year for African football — from club triumphs to global headlines.

17:55 – Doors open! Guests take their seats. The opening film reels in five. CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe also arrives and expresses his delight at the progress made in African football over the past year including Morocco winning the U20 World Cup.

17:50 – 10 minutes to doors. The atrium is buzzing; elegantly cut suits, sequins and national colours everywhere. FIFA President Gianni Infantino arrives for 'the celebration of the best of the best of African football'.



17:45 – Presenters and award hosts gathering backstage. Running order confirmed; timing is laser-tight.



17:40 – Media room note: mixed zone set for post-win reaction — expect quick quotes within minutes of each announcement. The history making Cape Verde coach Bubista is also in the building after leading his country to qualify for the World Cup. Togo legend Emmanuel Adebayor decked out in a white 'agbada' is on the red carpet and sharing his thoughts on the African Footballer of the Year award - he is also tipping Achraf Hakimi for the top award. Nigeria goalkeeper Chiamaka also on the red carpet. 

17:35 – Trophy table: the iconic CAF gold-plated statuettes are on site. Security tight, polish immaculate. Moroccan legend Mustapha Hadji and former Namibia defender Collin Benjamin also spotted on the red carpet. Hadji: "It is an honour to be here tonight and I hope a Moroccan will win tonight."



17:30 – Performers sound-check done. Awilo’s bassline is rattling the plaza — you’ll feel it on the stream later. Morocco coach Walid Regragui among the guests tonight. He hopes Hakimi will grab the top award tonight. He also admitted to the pressure of winning the upcoming TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations. More and more guests and nominees arriving for tonight's event.
