MC Alger Part Ways with Coach Patrice Beaumelle, Khaled Ben Yahia appointed new coach

MC Alger announced the termination of its contract with French coach Patrice Amir Beaumelle on Monday evening after a mutual agreement was reached to part ways.

The club's management ended the contract with Beaumelle following the team's 1-0 defeat at home to Sudanese side Al-Hilal Club last Saturday, in the third round of Group A of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.

The decline in the team's performance and results in the Algerian Professional League since the start of the current season was also a key factor in the decision to part ways with Beaumelle.

Beaumelle had been in charge of the club since March 2023. Under his leadership, the team won the 2023-2024 domestic league title, reached the final of the Algerian Republic Cup in the same season, and finished third in the overall standings in his first season, 2022-2023.

During his tenure, MC Alger played 65 matches under Beaumelle’s guidance, winning 36, drawing 19, and losing 10.

The club's management, in a statement, thanked Beaumelle and praised the work he accomplished as head coach, including his significant contribution along with his coaching staff, in winning the league title and reaching the final of the Algerian Republic Cup.

Meanwhile, Tunisian coach Khaled Ben Yahia will take charge of the team for upcoming matches confirmed the club.

Khaled Ben Yahia will begin his tenure as head coach on Tuesday, 17 December.
