Mzansi’s Capital ready to stage African Football League showdown

A packed to the rafters 50 000 capacity Loftus Stadium, a family Fan Village, a scintillating line-up of South African musos, topped with two of Africa’s best football clubs sums up what is expected to be another memorable date in the rich history books of African football.

Mamelodi Sundowns, the reigning South African champions against Wydad Athletic Club, the most titled Moroccan football club face each other head-on in round two of the African Football League final on Sunday in the capital city of South Africa, Tshwane (Formerly Pretoria).

With the coaches and players raring to give fans and the global audience high-octane African football action, the nation’s capital has been abuzz with football excitement ahead of today’s clash with international football dignitaries, senior government officials and a host of high-end celebrities all expected to grace Sunday afternoon’s spectacle. 

With kick off in just a few hours from now, fans can brace themselves for a fun-filled family outing, as the AFL pulls out all the stops in putting together a memorable and fan engaging afternoon.

Ahead of the 15h00 (13h00 GMT) kick off, a Fan Village has been organized for families to enjoy some fan engaging activities, competitions, live music and exciting prize giveaways at the AFL Fan Village just next to the Loftus Stadium.

Live performances before and during half-time by some of the best music acts such as Dali Wonga, Young Stunna and DJ Maphorisa will headline an exciting line up of music as part of the fan experience this afternoon.

Following what promises to be an end-to-end football encounter between the two sides from the opposite ends of the continent, the African Football League will be staging a memorable awards ceremony to officially close off what has been an exceptionally successful African Football League competition.
