A delegation from the East African countries that will host the next TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations in 2027 is currently in  Morocco as part of an observer mission during the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025.

The delegation comprises of representatives from Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda – the three Nations that will host Africa’s Biggest Event in 2027.

The observer mission is part of knowledge exchange between CAF, the current host Nation Morocco and the three co-hosts.

Over the last few days, the delegation has visited a number of different areas in the event.

The programme commenced on Friday, 09 January, with a visit to the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

The delegation observed live matchday operations during the quarter-final fixture between Morocco and Cameroon, allowing them to gain direct exposure to critical areas such as stadium management, security coordination, media flow, spectator services and competition operations.

As part of the wider programme, the delegation also toured Al Medina Stadium and the Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Hassan – two of the four competition venues in Rabat.

In addition to stadium operations, the delegation visited the Main Media Centre (MMC) in Rabat, which accommodates over 1,000 accredited journalists and serves as the central hub for all official press conferences and media activities. The visit offered valuable exposure to the scale and coordination required for international broadcast and media engagement.

The programme further included strategic visits to the African Police Cooperation Centre in Rabat, highlighting security collaboration frameworks, as well as to the AFCON Fan Zones, which have become an essential component of CAF competitions in enhancing fan engagement.

“This Observer Programme reflects CAF’s commitment to long-term excellence in tournament delivery. By strategically exposing future host nations to operations of our flagship event, we are ensuring consistency in hosting world-class African football events. The delegation’s presence in Morocco is a vital step in transferring knowledge, strengthening capacity and preparing Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda to successfully host a world-class TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations in 2027,” said CAF General Secretary, Veron Mosengo-Omba.

The initiative reflects CAF’s forward-looking approach to knowledge transfer, capacity building and institutional continuity in tournament hosting.
