Senegal have booked a FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup, Seychelles 2025™ quarter-final with Italy after finishing top of Group C with a resounding 7-3 victory over Chile at the Paradise Arena in Victoria on Tuesday.

Senegal took a full haul of nine points from their three games, scoring 17 goals in the process and conceding seven, and will face Group D runners-up Italy in the next stage. Italy were beaten finalists at the last edition of the global finals in 2024.

Should Senegal advance past the Italians, they will face the winner of the tie between Belarus and Iran in the semi-finals. The remainder of the quarter-final line-up sees Portugal take on Japan and defending champions Brazil meet Spain.

Mandione Diagne, Sidy Fall and Ninou Diatta all scored twice for Senegal to go with a goal by Sanou Thiaw in their comfortable victory.

It is the sixth time in 10 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups™ that Senegal have reached the quarter-finals, with their best finish fourth place in Russia in 2021.

It is the first time they have won three games at a global finals as well.

In other matches on Tuesday, defending champions Brazil defeated Oman 11-1 as Catarino scored a hat-trick to go with goals for Brendo (2), Benjamin Jr (2), Edson Hulk, Rodrigo, Thanger and Brendo.

Italy defeated El Salvador 5-0 with a rare shutout win at a FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup™.

It is in fact the joint fifth biggest shut-out victory in the history of the competition, but well short of the 0-0 win for Senegal against Ecuador in 2017.

Spain defeated Tahiti 7-4 in the final match of the day.
