Serhou Guirassy, UEFA Champions League's goal machine, on his way to the FIFA Club World Cup

Although Guinea is not participating in the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations 2025, Serhou Guirassy is turning this absence into a source of motivation to push himself further.
Even though the striker would have liked to be at the continental showpiece, he remains focused on his next big challenge: the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, where Borussia Dortmund will be competing.
A serial goal scorer on a mission
The 2024/25 season is shaping up quite well for Serhou Guirassy in Germany. The Guinean dominates the UEFA Champions League top scorer standings with ten goals. At 28 years old, he has established himself as one of the most feared strikers in European football, propelling the German club in the fight for the top honours.
Having joined Dortmund from VfB Stuttgart after a Bundesliga season where he scored 30 goals, Guirassy wasted no time in making an impact on the European stage. With 10 goals in 9 Champions League matches, he boasts an impressive average of 1.11 goals per game.
His European campaign has been filled with high-level performances, including a brace against Celtic Glasgow. Deadly in the box, clinical in finishing, he is a nightmare for opposing defenders and a lethal weapon for his team.
The spearhead of Borussia
At Dortmund, Guirassy is much more than a goal scorer. His chemistry with Karim Adeyemi and Julian Brandt provides the perfect balance between creativity and offensive efficiency. His former coach, Edin Terzić, does not hide his admiration:
"Serhou has added a new dimension to our game. He’s a complete striker, capable of finishing, but also being an essential anchor point in our collective play."
His teammates also praise his contribution, like Julian Duranville: "He has an exceptional sense of positioning that makes all the difference. He knows how to be in the right place at the right time, and his defensive work helps us.”
