Yacine Bounou nominated for the FIFA Award for Best Goalkeeper of the Year

Just hours from being voted Africa’s Best Goalkeeper at the CAF Awards 2023, Moroccan goalkeeper, Yacine Bounou, is once again competing for another individual award - the 2023 FIFA Award for Best Goalkeeper of the Year.
For the second time in a row, the Montreal native is among the three finalists for this prestigious award. The Moroccan goalkeeper will compete for this award, along with Belgian goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, and the Brazilian shot stopper, Ederson.
Bounou won the European Football League and the European Super Cup with his former club, Sevilla, and enjoyed an exceptional 2023.
It should be noted that Bono, who was active with Morocco in the semi-finals of the Qatar 2022 World Cup, ranked third in this category of the award last year, behind Argentina’s Emiliano Martinez, who won the award as well as Courtois.
The FIFA Awards will be held on 15 January2024 in London.
