CAF Disciplinary Board met to hear a number of matters related to the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations.

TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations: Cote d’Ivoire v Algeria

In their report, the match officials reported that at the end of the match, the pitch was invaded by around 40 supporters, mainly from the East stand.

The report noted that the numbers of security stewards was insufficient to control the commotion triggered by an Algerian supporter who invaded the pitch.

CAF Disciplinary Board decision:

·       To issue a warning to Cameroonian Football Federation for the lack of security during the said match and stern reminder to strictly comply with the safety regulations.

·       To impose a fine of 5,000 USD on the Algerian Football Federation for the invasion of the pitch triggered by their supporter.

·       To impose a fine of 10,000 USD on Ivorian Football Federation for the invasion of the field by their supporters, of which 5,000 is suspended provided that such an incident does not recur during the tournament.

TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations: Gambia v Tunisia

Tunisia FA was charged after their coach Mondher Kbaier entered the field without the referee’s permission. The DC also charged Tunisia goalkeeper, Farouk Ben Mustapha with misconduct for using vulgar language towards the referee.

CAF Disciplinary Board decision:

·       To impose a fine of 5,000 USD on coach Mondher Kbaier for his behavior

·       To impose a fine of 5,000 USD on Farouk Ben Mustapha for his regrettable behavior

·       To issue a call to order to Tunisian Football Federation regarding compliance with the principles of loyalty, integrity, sportsmanship and ethics.
