The Young Carthage Eagles of Tunisia secured a vital 2-1 win over Zambia to finish second in Group C and qualify to the quarter-finals of the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

Tunisia needed to win against the Cosafa champions to guarantee their place in the knockout phase of the tournament.

Goals from Jibril Othman and Mohamed Dhaoui were enough to beat the Copper Bullets of Zambia at the Cairo International Stadium on Monday night.

"We were not in a good position in the group and we needed to win in order to qualify," Sellimi said.

"We performed well and succeeded in reaching our goal. The team's performance is gradually improving and we thank God for qualifying.

"We took advantage of the chances and succeeded in scoring but overall they are a very good team,” Sellimi added.

Tunisia will face Congo on Friday at the Cairo International Stadium in the quarter-finals of the tournament.

Congo finished second in Group B with one win and two draws, while Tunisia finished second in Group C with one win and a draw.
