Congolese Star, Merveille Kanjinga signs with PSG

Democratic Republic of Congo star, Merveille Kanjinga has officially put pen to paper with French club, Paris Saint-Germain after the club announced the signing on Friday, 31 January in a move that will see Kanjinga at the club until 2027.

Developed by Congolese giants TP Mazembe, Kanjinga has established herself as one of the best players on the continent with her outstanding performances.

In her first season (2021), Kanjinga made a finished as the top scorer of the National Championship with 23 goals.

Her goal-scoring instinct and consistency were key to Mazembe's success, with whom she secured three doubles (Cup and League) and most importantly, the CAF Women’s Champions League in 2024.

Voted the best player of the Congolese Championship in 2022 and 2024, she represents the rise of Congolese and African women’s football on the international stage. Her arrival at PSG marks an important step in her career, as well as a powerful signal for the development of women’s football in the DRC and across the continent.

In Kanjinga, PSG have not only secured a prolific goal scorer, but a player with an inspiring journey, a symbol of the strength and resilience of African football.
