JKT Queens U17 coach Esther Chabruma has experience in the game
Esther Chabruma has brought all her experience to the on-going CAF U17 Girls Integrated Football Tournament (GIFT) tournament and seen her side into the final.
She started as a striker herself and is now the coach of JKT Queens, which is one of the top teams in the CECAFA region.
Chabruma, when she was playing football, served the Tanzanian national team for 15 years and gained success with them.
In Tanzania, she is the first female to play football in Europe after she left for Sweden, where she stayed for three years. Locally, she served Katodora and Sayari Queens for more than 18 years.
As a coach, she has served at various clubs, such as Tiger Queens in the first league, and was assistant coach at Young Princes in 2022 and with the women's national team, the Kilimanjaro Queens.
In 2023, she was one of the nominees for the CAF Women's Coach of the Year award after having a great competition with JKT Queens when they participated in the CAF Women's Champions League.
And now she is serving as head coach of JKT Queens U-17, which is participating in the pilot project CAF U17 Girls Integrated Football Tournament (GIFT), to further her vision to support young girls in football.
Her team will play in the final on Saturday against TDS Girls at the Azam Complex Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
