Gerald took her tally in the competition to eight goals and was a major factor in her team’s success, proof she has a fine future in the game. She took home the Golden Boot Award as leading scorer.

The Player of the Tournament went to Mary Siyane from TDS Girls after several outstanding displays, while Goalkeeper of the Tournament was won by her teammate Nusra Jafari. The Fair Play Award also went to TDS Girls.

Kenya Academy of Sport (KAS) finished third in the tournament when they beat Uganda's Boni Consilli Girls 2-0 in a play-off match on Friday.

Kenya Elite Junior Academy took fifth with a 4-0 victory over Aigle Noir from Burundi.

Another ground-breaking initiative in CAF’s ongoing Women’s Football Development strategy, the CAF U17 GIFT tournament was introduced as a pilot project in the CECAFA region to diversify the football offering on the continent and promote the emergence of new talent.
