Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers: Tanzania, Morocco secure first leg wins - Cameroon stumble

The Paris 2024 Olympic Qualifiers produced some interesting results in the first leg encounters, as Tanzania and Morocco secured important first leg victories while Uganda sent shockwaves with a convincing victory over Cameroon.
All winners of the day go into the second leg with a 2-0 cushion, which sets them up for relatively comfortable fixtures next Tuesday.
Tanzania 2 - 0 Botswana
Goals: C.Opah 2’ (p), Masaka 88’
Tanzania registered a 2-0 victory over Botswana to take a cushion lead ahead of the return leg in Botswana.
A well taken penalty in the second minute by Clement Opah along with a late finish by Masaka ensured the Tanzanians get a confidence boosting win over the Southern African side.
The return leg is scheduled for Tuesday, 31 October in a 16h00 GMT kick off.
Uganda 2 - 0 Cameroon
Goals: Nagadya 11th, Ikwaput 75th
After crashing out of the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco 2024 qualifiers, Cameroon have suffered yet another disappointing defeat at the hands of Uganda.
A 2-0 defeat, with goals in each half meant the Indomitable Lionesses take home a defeat and face an uphill task of reversing it in the return leg scheduled for Tuesday, 31 October.
Namibia 0 - 2 Morocco
Goals: El Chad 20th, Lahmari 78th
The Atlas Lionesses outclassed Namibia 2-0 thanks to a clinical display that saw Nesrine El Chad and Anissa Lahmari get two crucial goals ahead of their return leg.
Morocco are in a very comfortable position to advance when they play host to the Namibians next Tuesday.
Ghana comfortably overcome Benin away from home in Paris 2024 Olympics Qualifier
Benin 0 - 3 Ghana
Goals: Boaduwaa 43rd, Assifuah 73rd, 79th
Ghana registered an emphatic 3-0 victory away from home in their first leg Paris 2024 Olympic qualifier clash against Benin on over the weekend to take home a comfortable three-goal cushion ahead of the return leg on Tuesday.
A late first half goal by Doris Boaduwaa coupled by a brace from Gifty Assifuah ensured the Black Queens march into the return leg at home with a comfortable advantage.
With home ground to their advantage, Benin did very little to trouble their visitors who dominated them from the opening whistle.
The first goal came as a result of a well taken penalty by Boaduwaa in the 43rd minute after Benin were penalised for a foul in the box for the Ghanaians to get the important opener just minutes before the break.
Coming into the second half, the Ghanaians continued their dominance and were richly rewarded by a brace by an in-form Assifuah who found the back of the net twice in a space of ten minutes in the 73rd and 79th minute.
The loss at home marks a very steep hill to climb for Benin who head to Accra with a three-goal deficit.
The return match is scheduled for Tuesday, October 31 in Accra.
