TotalEnergies CAF WCL: AWA dethron Malabo King's, renew appointment with Mazembe in UNIFFAC Final

AS AWA FC of Cameroon , and TP Mazembe ladies of the Democratic Republic of Congo, are through to the final of the UNIFFAC Zonal qualifiers for the TotalEnergies CAF Women's Champions League 2022.
This following their impressive wins over last season's champions Malabo King's of Equatorial Guinea and Chad's CECUS FC respectively.
TP Mazembe ladies thrashed CECUS FC 4-0 in the first semi final game on Tuesday at the Nueve Estadio de Malabo, with goals from Merveille Kanjinga, Dishika and Ondebrumbu.
Star woman Merveille Kanjinga, who netted Mazembe's lone goal against AWA FC last week, was on the score sheet twice within the first 20 minutes of the game, before Dishika made it 3-0 at the half an hour mark.
CECUS FC was able to manage the game better in the second segment, but scored with five minutes of regulation time left, but TP Mazembe ladies sailed through to the final.
AS AWA FC of Cameroon, had suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat to TP Mazembe ladies last week, but but booked a semi final showdown against host Malabo Kings, who only joined at semi-final stage of the competition following their excellent run in the maiden edition.
The home crowd at the Nueve Estadio de Malabo, was silenced when Félicite Enganemben powered AS AWA in front at the 34th minute of the game.
Goalkeeper Marthe Ongmahan made a stunning save to deny Malabo Kings an equalizer with six minutes to the break, before Jeanne Kouesso doubled AWA's lead to ensure that Hassan Balla's side went for the break with a two goals advantage.
Teenage sensation and military women's world cup top scorer Brenda Tabe Ebika, extended the Cameroon side's lead just one minute after resumption.
Malabo Kings failed to turn things around despite dominating the remainder of the game, as AS AWA FC secured their place for the final.
Both sides finished the game with 10 players either way, as AWA's midfielder Vanessa Kalieu and Malabo Kings goalkeeper Ruth Chinasa Sunday, were shown red for different bookable scenarios late in the game.
Last year's semi finalist of the TotalEnergies CAF Women's Champions League Malabo King's, will miss out of the second edition of the event.
AS AWA FC and TP Mazembe ladies will clash for the second time, when they meet in the final, to decide who joins last year's winners Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies of South Africa, Bayelsa Queens of Nigeria and Egypt's Wadi Degla in group B of the competition which will be hosted by Morocco.
