Conde: “We want to win against Libya”

A win is a definite must for Mozambique against Libya on Tuesday at the Nelson stadium Mandela should they want to keep their TotalEnergies African Nations Championships hopes alive.
Coach Chiquinho Conde's men find themselves in a delicate situation after their 0-0 draw against Ethiopia, in the first match of Group A which has put them under pressure to get a result against the Libyans
Getting a victory will not be easy according to Mozambican striker Isac De Carvalho who said: “It will be a difficult meeting. We have observed our opponent. It is a very talented team, we must not fall into their trap because they know how to be very aggressive,” said the forward.
“We will have to get back into the match and be focused from the opening whistle. We want to dominate like we did against Ethiopia, while being more efficient this time around”.
Speaking ahead of the clash in his side’s official press conference, Conde said he wanted to focus on the match against Libya and was not concerned with what happens in other fixtures.
“For the moment I only want to think of Libya. I know you are in a hurry to see us facing Algeria But the mentality remains the same as it was from the start of this competition, which is to take the matches one after the other,” concluded the coach.
The kick-off of the meeting between Mozambique and Libya will take place at 17h00 GMT at the Nelson Mandela Stadium located in Baraki.
