Host Morocco beat Cameroon 3-1 in warm-up
Host Morocco gave their preparations a huge boost after beating Cameroon 3-1 in a friendly on Saturday in Casablanca.
In their first ever international warm-up, the Atlas Lions guided by Jamal Sellami led 3-0 at half time courtesy strikes from Mohamed Nahiri, Ayoub Kaabi and Ismail Haddad.
Nahiri opened the scores on the 31st minute, Kaabi added the second two minutes later before Haddad took the game beyond the Cameroonians three minutes before recess.
Franktz Pangop grabbed a consolation for the visitors early in the second half.
Meanwhile, the Moroccans play lower division side Mohammedia in their final test match on Monday, 8 January 2018.
The host are housed in Group A alongside Mauritania, Guinea and Sudan whilst Cameroon will vie honours in Group D with Angola, Burkina Faso and Congo.
The final tournament has been scheduled for 13 January to 4 February 2018 in the Moroccan cities of Casablanca (Group A), Marrakech (Group B), Tangiers (Group C) and Agadir (Group D).

La sélection nationale des joueurs locaux s'est imposée face à son homologue camerounaise sur le score de 3 à 1, samedi soir au complexe Mohammed V de Casablanca en match amical.
Mohamed Nahiri (31e), Ayoub Kaabi (33e) et Ismail Haddadi (42e) ont marqué les trois réalisations du onze national. Pangop (48e) a été l'auteur de l'unique but de l'équipe adverse.
Ce match test, officié par Redouane Jyed et suivi par le sélectionneur national, Hervé Renard, a servi de préparation aux deux sélections pour la 5e édition du Championnat d'Afrique des nations Total Maroc 2018 (13 janvier-4 février).
