MATCH FACTS: Co-hosts Tanzania take on might of Morocco in Dar es Salaam

Dar es Salaam prepares for a quarterfinal showdown as co-hosts Tanzania take on Morocco, one of the most successful nations in African Nations Championship history in a quarterfinal clash with Morocco in Dar es Salaam on Friday.

This is the first-ever meeting between Tanzania and Morocco at CHAN.It is Tanzania’s first match against North African opposition in the competition.

This is Tanzania’s 11th game at CHAN; Morocco are their 10th different opponent.
Morocco face East African opposition for the seventh time (P6 W3 D2 L1).

Their East African record includes wins over Uganda (3-0 in 2014, 5-2 in 2020) and Rwanda (4-1 in 2016), plus draws with Rwanda (0-0, 2020) and Sudan (0-0, 2018).

At this tournament, Morocco lost 1-0 to Kenya – their only defeat to East African opposition.

Morocco are facing an East African side in the knockout rounds for the first time.

Tanzania are Morocco’s 21st different opponent at CHAN.
