Pre-match quotes: Sudan vs Mauritania

Published:

Zdravko Logarusic (Head Coach, Sudan)

We have a game against Mauritania that looks difficult. Many may think that the fact that Mauritania conceded four goals against Morocco will make our task easy. On the contrary, Mauritania will do anything to get their campaign back on track. I followed their match against Morocco and they created a lot of problems for the Atlas Lions. I really admired their output. The 4-0 scoreline is true reflection of the standard of Mauritania and that's what I said to my players, and we have to be careful.

Our goal is to ensure early qualification after the second match because the last match against the host country (Morocco) will be very difficult. There will be tremendous pressure and therefore, we must ensure the essential against Mauritania.

Corentin Martins (Head Coach, Mauritania)

We are inevitably disappointed after the heavy defeat against Morocco. We must not forget that we played against the favourites of the tournament. We defended well during more than one hour of play, before conceding a first goal which completely changed the complexion of the game. We will face a good team from Sudan who played a good match against Guinea. Sudan beat a Guinean team that has been talked about a lot, especially after its qualifying round. I intend to make some changes to the squad because we aim to win against Sudan. Our goal is to build a team of the future and the CHAN is a good springboard for us to learn.
