Reactions: Morocco 4-0 Mauritania

Jamal Sellami (Head Coach, Morocco)

I am very happy with victory that will give the players more confidence for future games. At half-time, I tasked the players to stay focused and not to leave too much space behind. We missed a lot of chances in the first half. In the second half, the players did not give up. I think that the first goal completely cleared the situation because it allowed us to score three other goals. We have started the tournament well and I hope we will also finish on a good note on February 4. The tournament started and we have to maintain our focus.

Badr Benoun (Captain, Morocco)

We have started the competition on a good note. We believed until the end, after many missed opportunities in the first period. The essential element remains the victory. We will prepare for the match against Guinea on Wednesday, in good condition and with good morale.

Corentins Martins (Head Coach, Mauritania)

We faced a team stronger than us. Before the match, I said that the level of the Moroccan league is stronger than that of Mauritania. We played a good game but in front of us was a stronger opponent. We do not have to be ashamed of this defeat because everyone has seen on the ground the difference in level. Such is football!
